STATEMENT: R2K Gauteng supports the Marikana Solidarity Campaign

Issued by the Right2Know Campaign, 11 August 2014

The Right2Know Gauteng supports the Marikana Solidarity Campaign at the Marikana Commission today as Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is appearing at the Commission.

Ramaphosa, who is a former Lonmin board member, has been accused of putting pressure on police to act against striking workers. As the Right2Know Campaign we demand answers during his testimony as to why he did not intervene on time to prevent the August 2012 massacre.

As we commemorate the second anniversary of the Marikana Massacre, we call on all politicians and individuals involved in the murder of the 34 Marikana miners to be brought to book. Justice delayed is justice denied. Let the truth be told.
